Better Broadband for Norfolk

Some locations in our community still do not have a fibre broadband service but other options do exist. A wireless service is available from Intouch Systems Ltd. This is a meshed wireless internet system covering large parts of rural Norfolk, known as ITSwisp. If you need help or further information regarding this service then please contact Councillor Robert Foster on robert@netcom.co.uk or speak directly with Intouch Sytems on 01603 452209 or email enquiries@intouchsystems.co.uk.

Working with Better Broadband for Norfolk Robert was instrumental in keeping Open Reach to its latest rural broadband commitment and in August 2018 fibre finally reached 2 newly installed green cabinets, one at Guilers Lane by the pub and a second at Top Common.

On a different tack, alternative network ISP County Broadband, which last year secured an investment of £46m to help it roll-out a new 1Gbps Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) network, claims to have identified 20 rural villages in South Norfolk and Breckland where they could extend their network in the near future.

Locally, there has been comment on the Nextdoor website on this service being rolled out in Bunwell and Carleton Rode. Donna Dixon is the Territory Sales Executive at County Broadband Ltd.

It appears that we might have more to come from a telegraph pole based Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) service.
