Wattlefield is 3 miles south of the market town of Wymondham. The chapel of ease here is a structure of red brick, erected about 1843, by John Mitchell esq. from the designs of Mr. John Buckler, and was originally intended for a school: it consists of chancel and nave with vestry and served by the vicar and curate of Wymondham. There is also a small Wesleyan chapel, built in the early part of the present century. Wattlefield Hall, a modern mansion in the Elizabethan style, stands in about 50 acres of pasture and wood and is the seat of Edward William Routh Clarke esq, J.P. Spooner Row, formerly inhabited by makers of spoons and other wooden ware, is in this division and has a small station on the main line of the Great Eastern railway, adjoining which are the extensive corn warehouses of Mr. James Watts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
